The Simple Shot List Categories We Use on Every Education Shoot | Catch Lyt
A shot list is not there to make the day rigid. It is there so you do not drive away missing the film.
On campus jobs the clock always tightens. Templates earn their keep because they cut decision fatigue when you are already behind. We come back to the same short set of categories.
1. Hero portraits
The faces the brand will reuse: students, teachers, leadership. Lit and framed on purpose.
2. Wide environment
Where we are. Buildings, grounds, the scale of the place.
3. Detail and texture
Hands, objects, uniforms, traditions — the things that make the school itself.
4. Real teaching or interaction
The work happening, not only people posed beside it.
5. Campus lifestyle
The in-between: movement between lessons, sport, quiet corners. Leave room for shots that were never on the list. Some of the strongest frames of the day arrive that way.
The template protects the essentials. It should not prevent discovery.
