The Prompt Is Becoming a Creative Skill — Whether We Like It or Not | Catch Lyt
“Prompt engineering” sounded like a fad. It is now just briefing, with a worse name.
Output quality still follows the clarity of the instruction. Vague prompts produce vague pictures. Precise ones — composition, light, mood, camera behaviour, what to avoid — get closer to usable.
1. This is an old skill in a new box
Directors who can brief well were already valuable. The model only made the cost of a sloppy brief more obvious.
2. Treat the prompt like a shot list
Write it in pre-production, not after the tab is open.
3. You do not need to become a technician
You do need to describe visual intent without hand-waving.
4. Practice plus taste
The people getting useful results can say what they want, then recognise it when it appears.
