Why Human Art Direction Still Matters More Than the Model | Catch Lyt
Impressive single images are easy now. A set that belongs together is not.
That is the gap art direction still fills. A campaign needs consistency across frames, a relationship between images, and a sense that everything lives in the same world. Generative tools produce volume. They do not automatically produce coherence.
1. The job is shifting, not vanishing
Less making every image by hand. More setting rules, selecting, and enforcing a system.
2. Closer to directing than to illustration
The responsibility is the same: protect the integrity of the visual idea.
3. Brands should be glad
Faster exploration does not remove the need for someone who knows what the brand should feel like. When volume goes up, that knowledge matters more.
4. Taste does not scale by itself
That remains a human advantage.
