What We’re Learning About AI Voice and Performance | Catch Lyt
AI can now speak clearly in several languages. That is not the same as someone meaning what they say.
The best systems are better at pace and nuance than they were. For temp tracks, internal decks and some multi-language explainers, that is already useful. For the main voice in a brand or education film, we stay cautious.
1. Voice carries identity
When audiences sense the voice was generated, a small distance appears. Sometimes that is fine. When trust is the message, it works against the film.
2. Tool first, performance last
Scratch tracks and working versions: yes. Public-facing performance: only if the project wants a stylised or non-human quality — and even then, test it.
3. Case by case
The question is not “can it?” It is “does this serve this audience?”
